The AWD-1100-SE test both axles of the test vehicle under the same imposed load: while at the same time providing for front-to-rear axle speed synchronization. Front-to-back roller speed synchronization protects AWD centre differentials, provides for a means to safely test vehicles with traction control, and allows for testing to be performed under realworld load conditions.
Without a transmission, an AWD dynamometer can only be used in steady-state or ramp control mode - limiting its usefulness as a real-world testing tool.
With a maximum power measurement of 3,000 hp and a top speed of 150 mph during AWD mode, this dyno is capable of handling a broad range of performance and diagnostic tests. Flip the switch to disengage the AWD portion and run the dyno in 2WD mode. Now the dyno is capable of measuring up to 2,000 hp and has a top speed of 225 mph, more than enough for any street car or drag racer.
The AWD-1100-SE accommodates wheelbases from 80 to 134 inches without moving parts. An automatic decoupler allows for a means to disengage the system from AWD mode.
The AWD-1100 is ideal for TUNING and measuring power improvements from performance modifications. Our eddy current power absorber unit (PAU) allows for road-load based tuning — the most accurate way to tune a vehicle.
